Personal protector
is more than "bodyguard."

He/she can be executive aide; protective chauffeur; personal assistant and circle of safety.  His/her loyalty belongs to you.

The IBN provides its associates with credentials including resumes, dossiers, endorsement and business cards.  They are not identified as "bodyguards."  Instead, their cards and other credentials show them as members of the Special Samurai Team.  There is an important reason for this.
In medieval Japan there was a group of incomparable warriors; they were the Samurai.  They were the elite of a warrior society, and were dedicated to two sacred duties:  serving their lord (whom they were sworn to protect); and their honor.
Society during the time of these warriors was a hectic, violent one; but with all its tumult it was probably tame compared to the sophisticated anarchism of today.  Today, the lords are the CEOs of large corporations, the celebrities and the very rich, and this segment of our society is as vulnerable as the lords of medieval Japan.

The time of the Samurai is gone, but the problems inherent in a violent past are still with us.  Today's Bodyguard is the Samurai Warrior of the modern world.  In the 12th century, the Japanese Samurai were dedicated to honor, loyalty and the fighting skills.  They lived by a code in which "duty" to their lord was the highest form of honor; and to dishonor the code was a betrayal of giri, the betrayal of honor; and the penalties were great:  ritual suicide known as Seppeku.
The intensity of the Samurai culture is not as deeply ingrained for the modern Bodyguard, but the sense of duty is still required.  The members of the International Bodyguard Network serve with the same loyalty, and are sworn to defend the life of their "lord" with similar dedication.  It requires a true "Samurai" to qualify for the International Bodyguard Networks Special Samurai Team.  Each member of the team swears an oath to honor the Bushido Code of another era.

Members of our team who have distinguished themselves are presented with an Award that is a symbolic representation of the Sword of the Samurai.
